Ministry Intern Housing Initiative
Trinity’s Ministry Intern Housing Initiative is a combination of two things.
First, it is an opportunity for individuals gifted for ministry to grow those gifts within a congregational setting. We want to be a blessing to others, including the churches that ministry interns may serve in the future. We believe that God can use your time with Trinity to enrich and equip your life of service among God’s people. To this end, ministry interns will be paired with a pastoral supervisor who will provide mentorship and encouragement for the duration of service. This won’t be photocopying and coffee-getting. You’ll get real, hands-on, ministry experience.
Second, it is an opportunity to experience deep Christian community by sharing life together in a home. Trinity owns a detached home next to its ministry center, and is offering this home to interns for a significantly reduced rate ($200/month). We believe this kind of arrangement can be instrumental in Christian discipleship, and can facilitate lasting spiritual friendships.
Successful applicants will be expected to make Trinity their church home for the duration of their internship. Ministry interns will also be asked to serve in congregational ministries for ten hours/week. At this time we are only seeking applicants to serve in the area of Youth Ministry.
The Ministry Intern Housing program is designed with theological students in mind, but is not limited to them. The core qualifications are that the individual must:
1) Be 19 years or older
2) Possess a maturing faith in Jesus Christ, evidenced by a relationship with Him and by obedience to Him in life
3) Have an interest in growing ministry gifts in a church setting
Singles as well as married couples are welcome to apply. The nature of the living arrangement would make it difficult for families with children, however.
